You can also take advantage of one of the very attractive government-backed financial incentives available, such as the Feed-in Tariff. This is a cash back scheme designed to reward you for generating your own electricity from renewable sources.

If we fit solar PV panels for you, you'll receive guaranteed tax-free payments for the next 25 years, increasing annually to account for inflation. If your system is installed before April 2012, you'll receive at least 21p for each kilowatt-hour of electricity you generate.

Any electricity you don't use will be fed into the National Grid, and you'll also be paid for this.
